Service Manager


Walker Fire (UK) Ltd are a UK leading fire protection company with offices across the country.  Due to continued growth, Walker Fire are now looking to recruit Service Managers for 3 of our depots; Broxburn, Leeds and Watford.

Successful candidates must be committed, professional and demonstrate a willingness to succeed. You will be required to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Company's Objectives and Code of Conduct and be committed to the expansion and success of the business.  You will always be on the lookout for ways to improve, innovate and share these ideas with senior management. Please be advised that an Enhanced DBS application will be made on appointment and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory and clear DBS Certification being received.


• Pro-actively manage all team members guaranteeing the delivery of excellent customer service, high quality workmanship and promoting our disciplines.
• Maintaining ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 requirements for the branch.
• Working closely with all departments, especially invoicing and job planning.
• Attending monthly managers meetings at Head Office in Preston, reporting targets, objectives and communicating any constructive feedback and suggestions.
• Ensuring efficient and effective branch housekeeping.
• Implementing new contract management, ensuring all team members follow the customer’s requirements.
• Addressing customer queries / complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
• Participating in recruitment and retention of employees.
• Arranging monthly branch meetings with technicians to discuss targets, achievements and encouraging technicians to contribute any ideas / suggestions for improvement.
• Motivating, training and coaching the technicians on new initiatives / disciplines / products to ensure that all customer’s sites are compliant with the British Standards.
• Developing, performance managing and appraisals.
• Authorising holidays, absence and advising Head Office.
• Auditing workmanship on a regular basis for quality, consistency and customer service.
• Vehicle and tool inspections - reporting any damage / requesting any additional equipment.
• Overseeing monthly stocktakes for the branch and engineers van ensuring optimum stock levels.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven previous experience of managing a team is essential.
• An understanding of Health and Safety at work.
• The ability to hold an autonomous role and demonstrate good time management.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Full clean EU driving licence.
