Assistant to Bid Manager

ASSISTANT TO BID MANAGER

Walker Fire are looking for an individual to support the work of the Bid Manager at Preston Head Office, to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.

You must exhibit a positive, diligent and ambitious outlook coupled with the ability to work in a highly pressurised environment. To be considered for this role you must have previous experience in office administration, although full training will be given.

Responsibilities:

• Completing approved contractor and Health and Safety questionnaires.
• Registering the company on new portals and searching for business opportunities.
• Updating company and engineer details on Reset portal: https://www.rcscard.co.uk/.
• Updating training for Asbestos Awareness, CSCS and Human Focus.
• Quotations using in house QuoteWerks.
• Assisting the Bid Manager with various aspects of the bid.
• Administrative duties such as filing and data input.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year’s proven experience in an administration role.
• Computer skills especially with Microsoft Office packages.
• High standard of written communication.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to work in an autonomous role coupled with the ability to balance work in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours of work: 42.5 hours per week: 8am - 5pm (30 minute lunch break) Monday – Friday.
Salary: £17,000. 20 days holiday plus all statutory holidays.
